Mobilizing Confident Witnesses

Some missionaries go “across the ocean” to reach people with the Gospel.

You can reach Canadians “across the street.”

What is Mobilizing?

Mobilize is a military term defined as: “To prepare and organize (troops) for active service, or to bring (resources) into use in order to achieve a particular goal.”

Just as a military officer is not put on the “front lines” of warfare without first being equipped with weapons, teaching about combat theory, and hands-on training, so witnesses of the Gospel are more effective when mobilized for the “front lines” of evangelism and discipleship using this model.

What is a Confident Witness?

Confidence comes through finding your adequacy in Christ alone.Such is the confidence we have through Christ before God. It is not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God. He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant…”  2 Cor 3:4-6a CSB.

“Witnesses” are believers in Christ who testify to others about Jesus Christ concerning what they have seen, heard, understood, and experienced.

ICM mobilizes confident witnesses by equipping them with chronological Gospel-centered resources, teaching Bible classes, conducting workshops, and offering hands-on ministry training.

Chronological Bible Teaching

Chronological Bible Teaching uses the entire scriptures to understand the central figure of the scriptures, Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Jesus is not only the central figure in Scripture; He is IN all of Scripture, not just the New Testament. In fact, the Gospel stands on the foundations of the entire Old Testament, where the King foretells His plan. Therefore, to effectively communicate the Gospel in the New Testament, where the King fulfills His plan, we do well to teach chronologically from Genesis to Jesus - His 1st and 2nd coming.

Chronological Bible teaching grows faith in Jesus Christ and helps understand His Gospel clearly. This approach to the Bible lays the foundations for understanding the Gospel by journeying through the eternal story of redemption from Creation to the risen Christ, revealing the character of God and His love for humanity. A strong Gospel foundation nurtures revival and a secure relationship with Christ.

ICM is rooted in the great promise of Jesus Christ:

“…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8b
